Keenan Cornelius and Tayane Porfírio win again at SJJIF Worlds

Braguinha, Keenan and Kaynan share the top of the podium at SJJIF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2018.
The 2018 SJJIF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship was held at the Long Beach Arena on October 26 through 28, with athletes from 72 countries stepping on the mats to put their skill to the test. Classical and no-gi contests took place across all weight divisions, ages and ranks — not to mention the inclusive parajiu-jitsu matches for fighters with special needs.
Among adult black-belts, Keenan Cornelius and Tayane Porfírio confirmed their favoritism, each repeating their absolute championship from last year.
Keenan stood out due to his blue hair and refined jiu-jitsu. In the heavyweight division, after making his way through his bracket, he met his Atos teammate Gustavo Braguinha, with whom he closed out the tournament. In the absolute, Keenan again had friendly company on the podium, which he shared with Braguinha and Kaynan Duarte — the latter having previously won gold at super-heavyweight.
Alliance star Tayane Porfírio gave no chance to her opponents in the women’s open division. After taking the heavyweight title unopposed, she fought Nathiely de Jesus with absolute gold on the line and prevailed.
